Party Poker Review

Party Poker is probably the most well-known poker website in the world. This isn’t to say it’s the best, it’s just made a name for itself over the last seven or so years. And having such a large presence in the online poker community, it was sort of necessary for them to close their doors to US players when the UIGEA was passed in 2006. Despite this, however, Party Poker is still a staple of the online poker industry. At any given time, you will find up to 100,000 poker players congregating there, even though they don’t offer the best sign up bonus, loyalty rewards, or software program.

Software (6)

I have to give Party Poker a low score when it comes to software, just because so many other poker rooms have updated their software, and the technology has really come too far over the last few years for PP to still be using the same old look. It’s just lazy, in my opinion. The simplicity of the software, though, can be commended, but not its graphics. It also allows you to play at up to four tables and is fast and user-friendly.

Traffic (10)

If a score of 10 represents the biggest online poker room, then Party Poker sets the bar. It may not be the powerhouse it was before leaving the US market, but it still has a lot of players.

Tournaments (9)

With so many players to accommodate, there are plenty of tournaments available like multi-tables, singles, shootouts, and other special tourneys. Texas Hold ‘em and No Limit are the busiest areas, but there are tournaments for the likes of all poker players, including 7-Card Stud, 7-Stud Hi/Lo, and Omaha Hi/Lo. Tournaments with low buy-ins are the most trafficked areas. You will also find re-buy tourneys here, as well.

Game Variety (7)

Texas Hold ‘em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7-Card Study, and 7-Stud Hi/Lo are all available at PartyPoker, but these are, unfortunately, the only games you will find. There are no heads up or turbos, but there are single table games that you might be interested. Freeroll tables are very popular at PP.

Soft Competition (8)

There are all realms of players at Party Poker, from aggressive to tight; from experienced to inexperienced… you will find all sorts here due to the large and varied population.
